About Us

Overview
The Zibeko Foundation is a voluntary and non-profit organisation which was established ensuing a collective social commitment to make a meaningful contribution in the creation of equal opportunities for rural youth, women and destitute children.

The Foundation was founded in 2008 by Luthando ‘Trompies’ Zibeko, a soccer writer and Media Relations Officer of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club who hails from Tsomo in the Eastern Cape.

The Zibeko Foundation sought to improve the socio-economic livelihoods of the needy by providing life skills programmes and education through football and outreach programmes.

The Foundation is also committed contributing to the country’s national agenda to build a caring and prosperous society. Luthando’s idea was prompted by his first-hand experience of growing in the rural areas where there were limited or no exposure to sports development facilities as well as socio-economic opportunities and privileges.

In pursuit of social cohesion through a collective social responsibility, the has since recruited professionals and practitioners who are specialists in their respective areas of work, so as to amass a formidable team with technical skills, knowledge and aspirations that are resonant to the Foundation’s goals and objectives.
