He was born in a small village of Sihobotini in Tsomo, which is situated between Queenstown and Engcobo. He holds Degree in Library & Information Science from the University of Western Cape. Among his academic achievements Luthando was awarded Public Policy Partnership Scholarship back in 2003.

There were probably two events where Luthando found inspiration to start the Foundation: first back in 1994 while studying at Gcingca Junior Secondary School where he met a young boy from Sihobotini on his way to school. The boy was going back home in tears because he had not eaten the night before and the morning before going to school.

The second incident was during an educational trip to Robben Island in 2003, Luthando found inspiration in the illustrious political history of the likes of late Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and Robert Sobukhwe. The great stories and of these greatest sons of Africa, coupled with the sight of a starving boy back in 1994 was enough for Luthando to take a decision to give back to the community.

Mr. Zibeko also a motivational speaker, is currently serving as a Head of Marketing & Communications at Chippa United Football Club.
